We recently transformed a Guest room in our house to a playroom! Once my son started crawling around and getting into everything, we decided it was necessary to have a baby-proof / explore everything space for him.
I did some major changes to the room with paint, a feature wall, and removing the window coverings! I’ll try to make a post about those soon. In this post, you will find links to everything else! I wanted to go with a design that can change easily based on his age and interests.

Furniture
I don’t have a lot of furniture in here mainly because he likes to roll/crawl/push toys around the room right now.
The bookshelf is Kallax from IKEA. I liked this option because it doesn’t have shelves that rest on pegs. It’s pretty sturdy and can be attached to the wall so that it doesn’t fall on your kiddo when they pull up on it. I also liked that it can be beat up and the price is not too bad to replace.
The little chair that I have is linked here. If you have older or multiple kids, this little matching table and chairs is so cute!
Decor
I liked these shelves because they display the whole book – rather than in the spice rack shelves that we have in the nursery.
Above the toy display shelf, I chose simple ikea shelves to display some fun decor. I found everything else at At Home and TJ Maxx so I don’t really have links, but I have found a few similar options.
Toys
Also known as the fun stuff!!
I have been LOVING small shops and wooden toys! I’m going to try my best at toy rotations so that he stays interested in his toys and so that we don’t have so much clutter.
One of my favorite shops to buy wooden toys from lately is Maple and Lark. The small woven baskets are from there and they have a ton of cute toys!
Some of the other toys that aren’t linked are from a subscription service that I use is LOVEVERY. They send you a box every two months that include toys based on the development of your child and a guide on how to introduce the toys and play with your baby. I love it, especially as a first time mom because they don’t have an older sibling to play with! It would be a great gift for first time mamas, too! 🙂
