As you may know, I’m a first time mama so raising a tiny human is a whole new ballgame for me. When Mason turned 4 months, we started introducing purees and he LOVED it! That was a pretty easy transition from breastfeeding mostly because I was still breastfeeding him enough to fulfill his needs. Meaning that his feedings were mainly to encourage baby-led weaning.
When we moved up to solid foods, I had no idea what would be okay for him to eat. Of course bananas and his teething crackers are great, but what else?? We fed him whole foods that seemed soft enough for his little gums (he didn’t get his first tooth until 9 months). Advocados which is his absolute FAVORITE food, strawberries, blueberries, mashed potatoes, green beans, grapes (cut in half twice), and mac and cheese were some of the first foods that he loved!
Along with feeding him solids, we wanted to get him interested in using utensils. I bought these ergonomic utensils that are the perfect size for his little hands, they have a choke barrier so I didn’t have to worry about him chocking himself (Thank God!), and they improve fine motor skills.
I’ve also linked some of our favorite sippy cups, bibs, and plate!
